The rich wood patina of antiques and furniture is enhanced while leaving the wood conditioned. Built-in conditioners rich in natural oils penetrate deep into the wood to protect it against drying and cracking. Simply wipe it on and wipe away the old finish. Formby's® Conditioning Furniture Refinisher renews your wood's natural beauty without the need for sanding and scraping and is specially formulated to gently dissolve old varnish, lacquer and shellac without chemicals that may harm wood. The rich wood patina of antiques and furniture is enhanced while leaving the wood conditioned. Built-in conditioners rich in natural oils penetrate deep into the wood to protect it against drying and cracking. Simply wipe it on and wipe away the old finish. Then a light buffing is all that's needed to prepare the surface for an application of protective finish.

When working on rounded areas, such as chair legs or spindles, you might want to leave some of the old finish in the deep grooves to give the wood "character".

To remove streaks and swirls, use a steel wool pad soaked with clean Refinisher and rub the wood surface from one end to the other, going with the grain of the wood.

For carvings, grooves, and other hard-to-reach areas, apply Refinisher using a toothbrush. Refinishing process may be stopped and resumed at your convenience. If you use a metal coffee can, the plastic cap can offer a temporary seal.
